2010 Meetings

We no longer have access to the Nature Center for meetings. Budget cuts with the MDC have forced the nature center to close its hours way be fore we would get in there. IE, the janitors, etc that used to be there to let us in will already be home, so we need to come up with a new place for having meetings, especially if we want new members to join. Afterall, I realize we are all project cavers and 90% of the trips we do are survey trips to map our projects, and I also realize that becuase of this, our core group "meets" every weekend in the cave for in cave meetings.

The following email is from my wife, to me.

Chad,

Due to budget… the nature center can no longer house the SEMO grotto club meetings. Effective Jan 1, 2010 meetings will be held at the SE Regional office (next door to nature center). You need to confirm meeting dates with Alice Uhrhan (Alice.Uhrhan@mdc.mo.gov) 573-290-5730 ex 226. A key will need to be picked up from the regional office during regular business hours the day of the meeting. Call Alice for additional information.

If this doesn’t work I can probably get the okay from Bob to house the meetings at the field station. Let me know.

The only complication we may have housing it here would be power point presentations since we do not have the equipment here to do that, but I should be able to check the equipment out ahead of time from the regional office. But we do have a conference table

Kimberly.Hunt@mdc.mo.gov is the contact for getting things in the Nature Center newsletter. Not sure how the promotions will go if the meetings are no longer housed at the nature center.
